CRISIS INTENSIVE RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
ICON offers a crisis intensive residential treatment facility operating 24 hours daily 365 days a year, for the provision of Intensive/Crisis residential services to female youth ages eleven to seventeen years, who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis and have been diagnosed as mentally ill by a Board funded mental health professional. Based on the assessment of the mental health professional, these children meet the criteria for psychiatric hospital admission, but can be stabilized in a less restrictive hospital setting with the provision of intensive mental health services within a therapeutic milieu. This service is to avert acute psychiatric admission as well as reduce the length of stay for those Board funded children in acute psychiatric hospitals. This service will also be available to those children who are in need of continued care in a specialized residential program, but for whom there is no residential bed immediately available.
The Intensive/Crisis residential services that will be provided to children and families are:
-
Diagnostic/evaluation services;
-
Crisis intervention services, including brief individual and family therapy;
-
Psycho pharmacology and medication review services;
-
Milieu therapy;
-
Nursing services.
From the time of admission, an individual plan of service is developed for each resident, which includes the plan for discharge, since the resident's length of stay for services will be limited for fourteen (14) days. However, services may be extended to thirty (30) days based on the assessment of the interdisciplinary team. Those children who receive greater than fourteen days of service will require case management services. The referring screening center will be responsible for case management services for those children who receive services in excess of fourteen (14) days.
The inter-agency services provided to residents at ICON are as follow:
-
Medical via Grace Hospital
-
Dental via Professional Dental Clinic
This program statement is made available to every resident, her parents or legal guardian and other third-party referral sources providing them insight as to ICON's responsibilities and services.
